Dr. Joseph Urrea
DC, MS
Dr. Joseph Urrea earned his Doctor of Chiropractic at Texas Chiropractic College in 2013. Before that, he received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and later his Masters of Science in Exercise and Health Science from the University of Houston-Clear-Lake. He also received additional training including a Neurosurgery Rotation at St. Joseph's, an Osteopathic Rotation, and a Physical Therapy Rotation (both in Uptown Houston).

Dr. Urrea grew up in Sandia, Texas (30 miles from Corpus Christi) and moved to the greater Houston area in 2010. His passion for athletics and sports started while he was in high school. During his educational career, he interned with world renowned facility EXOS (formerly Athletes Performance). He learned valuable methodologies on how to provide exceptional chiropractic care along with patient centered rehabilitation.
Dr. Urrea enjoys supporting local triathlons, marathons, bike races, endurance competitions, and other races. He's completed 4 Ironman Triathlons, most recently Ironman Texas 2018 in The Woodlands, TX. Dr. Urrea is happily married to Dr. Teresa Urrea, who also is a Doctor of Chiropractic. They have a daughter, Elena, who is a bundle of joy!

DR. TERESA URREA, DC
Dr. Aitam Teresa Urrea earned her Doctor of Chiropractic at Texas Chiropractic College in 2016. Before receiving her license, she received a B.A. in Psychology from University of California-Riverside and also a B.S. in Human Biology from Texas Chiropractic College.

Dr. Urrea was born in Kansas but has lived most of her life in California and Texas. Growing up, she knew she wanted to help others feel better and be able to function at their best potential. After receiving her first chiropractic treatment and feeling relief from pain she experienced for years, she knew that chiropractic was the career path for her.

When Dr. Teresa isn't treating patients, she can be found spoiling her daughter Elena and three dogs, Ace, Daisy, and Odie. She also loves most things sweet and delicious to eat!

Do you accept insurance?We are an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not directly accept any medical insurance. We can provide all receipts and medical information for you to get reimbursed by your insurance. We also do not work with personal injury cases, auto accident cases, or worker's comp cases.

What injuries or conditions do we treat?We treat a variety of areas on the body from head to toe! Common areas we treat include: -Ankle -Arm -Back -Foot -Hip -Leg -Neck -Shoulder -Wrist

Do you treat children?Yes, we treat children of all ages. We do require a parent or legal guardian to provide consent to treat.

What typical happens during the initial evaluation? Follow-up visits?Initial evaluations usually range from 35-40 minutes. The chiropractor will perform an exam to evaluate the condition and determine a proper treatment plan. Visits can include any of the following treatment options: Heat or cold therapy Cupping therapy Manual therapy Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) Dry needling Prehab or rehab exercises Chiropractic adjustments Follow-up visits range from 20-25 minutes.

Do you take my Health Savings Account (HSA) or my Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?Yes. You may use either your HSA or FSA card at SCP. Please inform us if you need an itemized receipt.

How much are visits?Initial evaluations at $120 and follow-up visits are $80. However, we offer a wide range of packages and monthly memberships. See a full list of prices HERE.

SCP is a "for purpose" business. What does that mean?"SCP believes in giving back to our community and local charities. Each month, a percentage of our monthly revenue is donated to a different charity.

COVID-19 Policy?SCP is committed to keeping our patients, staff, and community members healthy and safe. We are relying on guidance from national and local chiropractic associations and healthcare organizations to direct our decisions and actions (i.e. Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners). ​ We are closely monitoring recommendations and protocols established by the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and local health departments. We will communicate as soon as possible if decisions are changed in regards to COVID-19. ​ We highly recommend patients follow guidelines issued by the CDC, and if you are feeling unwell, please take steps to safeguard others and remain at home. To date, routine hygienic measures are the suggested best practice for prevention of viruses like the coronavirus. Sanitation Policy: We have implemented increased sanitation routines at SCP. Please see the following guidelines we're following: -All linens or towels are disposed of or sanitized after every use. -Treatment tables are disinfected thoroughly between each and every patient. -Tools and all surfaces in the treatment rooms are disinfected after each patient. -All staff are washing their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds between each patient.
